Troubled Times
Mark Kramer and Eddie Gomez
"Even to untrained ears, it is obvious while listening to the set of duets on Troubled Times that Mark Kramer and Eddie Gómez have played together a countless number of times through the years. Their intuitive musical communication, which results in consistently exciting interplay, is never short of brilliant and often closer to miraculous.
Although they accompany each other during their solos, the pianist and the bassist function throughout as equals, as collaborators in creating a constant flow of musical ideas. Kramer and Gómez have played together since the late 1980s and regularly since 2001, co-leading groups, teaching as artists-in-residence at universities, and recording five previous CDs during 1994-2006:.The Trio, Originals, In Concert Vol. 1, Jazz Fiddler On The Roof and Art Of The Heart. Subsequently, they have embarked on a new series entitled "The Art of Music" (from Liner notes by Scott Yanow)
