DESCRIPTION

WITHIN THE VEIL is a raw, strictly acoustic duo recording  by pianist-neuroscientist Mark Kramer and acclaimed tenor saxophonist-educator Marco Pignataro - capturing their spontaneous spiritual journey roughly   corresponding  to St. Teresa of Ávila’s Interior Castle.

 

In the immediate wake of a catastrophic studio lightning strike, recording did not seem possible. So, Mark and Marco sat together pondering the authentic  purpose of music agreeing it needs to be ‘to sanctify that which created us'. From this arose -with no sheet music or rehearsal, the  90-minute spontaneous musical dialogue; fortunately well preserved on a surviving audiophile 4 track in the studio.  

This three-volume no holds-barred recording mirrors the soul’s journey toward union with the Creator—   reveaing a profound sonic artifact of attention, humility, and love.
