FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE THE KRAMER & HEIFETZ SONIC SOCIETY TO RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM, "SECRET SOCIETY OF SOUND V.1" NEW YORK, NY – October 30, 2025 – The Kramer & Heifetz Sonic Society, a new collaboration from seasoned musicians Mark Kramer and Samuel Heifetz, will release its debut album, "SECRET SOCIETY OF SOUND V.1" on October 30, 2025. The lead track, "INTENS" is available now to listen and watch at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eoa0EGxR9E. Mark Kramer (mark-Kramer.com), an award-winning composer, arranger, and pianist, joins forces with Latvian American composer, pianist, and orchestrator Samuel Heifetz for their first official collaboration. This new album, a collection of eight emotionally and technically riveting instrumental selections, intimately chronicles the duo's initial creative outing together.
Recorded with a unique combination of improvisatory piano trios, a string sextet from the Peabody Institute, and an array of exotic acoustic and sampled instruments, the music defies conventional genre labels. Described as "Confluence Noveau," it transcends the usual boundaries of postmodern jazz, new classical, or third stream. The project is accompanied by eight full-length videos, one for each track, offering a truly immersive experience. Each video is a unique visual work, synthesizing up to five distinct music visualizers plus up to five MIDI visualizations based on the audio transduced to MIDI. This innovative approach creates a dynamic visual narrative that uniquely harmonizes sight and sound, making the music a truly immersive sensory experience.
The album's first track, "INTENS*," composed by Kramer, sets the tone with its unconventional, multi-groove form and striking harmonies and melodies. The track's vibe may evoke a blend of influences, from the rhythmic complexity of Vijay Iyer's "Tirtha" to the modern sensibility of Sungazer's "Cool 7," and the foundational spirit of Charles Mingus's "The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady."
About The Kramer & Heifetz Sonic Society Mark Kramer is an award-winning composer-arranger-pianist, an MD/PhD, and an invitee to Nobel Hall for his distinctive neuroscience discovery. He also has a decades-long partnership with legendary bassist Eddie Gomez. Samuel Heifetz is a Latvian American composer, pianist, orchestrator, and educator.
